Recipe | Making the perfect gravy
Do you have your perfect Turkey Gravy Recipe? Besides getting together with family, stuffing and gravy is what I look forward to most. I want the best gravy recipe, and it must include heavy whipping cream! If that’s you too, here is a recipe I highly recommend, it’s easy and delicious!
- Pour 2T vegetable oil in 5 quart pan, over medium high heat. Add Turkey Wing Tips and Neck and brown well, about 4-7, minutes. Add 4 1/2 cups low sodium chicken broth and bring to a boil; cover, reduce heat and simmer for an hour. Remove Wings and neck
- Once turkey is done, pour pan drippings from turkey into gravy separator*, let sit and allow fat to separate, pour out the juice and reserve the fat. Set aside
- Add broth & juices from turkey, should be about 4 cups. If not add water to reach 4 cups.
- Return 1/3 fat drippings to unwashed roasting pan, add 1 clove minced garlic and 1/2 cup flour. Stir until bubbly and smooth. Stir in 4 cups broth and 1 cup heavy whipping cream (it’s Thanksgiving, diets are out the window). Whisk until smooth and scrap brown bits off bottom.
