    Amber’s Weekly Shopping Highlights 6/11 – 6/17

Did you enjoy the Seattle sun on Monday?  We sure did and the kids even had a water fight :)    We made our weekly trip to Country Farms – such a great place for produce during the summer months.   As mentioned in last weeks post I needed to put some of my focus on meat, sadly I ran out of the Zaycon Boneless Skinless Chicken.  BUT there are some great deals, so I will show you how I did it.  My goal is to stay at $150 a week to feed our family of 6.

I probably could have not paid $5.98/lb for those Cherries, but I brought the rugrats with me and seriously – they are too cute to resist sometimes.

Nothing to grand about this trip just the basics.  I did stock up 10lbs of  the 97/3 Ground Beef at Albertsons (deal over).  I LOVE Hamburgers, bun-less of course!

The splurge of the week.  You may have heard me say that my friend is moving – so we had our last movie night with her living this side of the mountains.  Can I kick and scream like a 3 year old because I really don’t want them to move, even though I am so excited for them!

BLUEBERRIES!  Shhhh don’t tell my kids but these are all in the freezer!!

My last and final trip this week was at Albertsons.  I absolutely love when the Gift Card Promotions come around!  We have to put a new railing on our deck, so I spent $500 on Lowe’s Gift Cards for the supplies (Deal still going).  Not only are we getting something done on our house that needs to be done, but we get some FREE Groceries in the process! When it’s time to buy the materials hopefully I can also order them online and get cash back  shopping through Ebates !  I am not sure yet if you can use gift cards online at Lowes, but I can’t see why not.  What is super cool about this is I also earned (3) $5.00 Albertsons rewards!  I used (2) of my $20 catalinas and (1) Albertsons  reward – My grocery purchase was only $0.62 and I now have 20lbs of Boneless Skinless Chicken,  and I still have $70 to spend!     I am waiting to get a peek at next weeks ad, to see if I should use them now or later.

    Budget $150.00

My final price for the week: $137.30
Roll over from previous weeks $66.14

    $78.84 to roll over

How did you do this week?  Did you go over or under?

You can use gift cards online at Lowe’s! We did the same thing this week, bought $600 in gift cards for a new fridge and other household stuff. Go through Ebates too. :)

        Sweet! Thanks Melody!

Amberl When you do go to Lowes to get the stuff you need, be sure to get a 10% off coupon, or some sort of coupon to save even more. When we had a lot of stuff to get, I got some Lowes coupons from e-bay. There are also some in the movers kit at the post office, but I haven’t seen any movers kits here. (Everett, Mill Creek area.)

We’ve done the giftcards at Lowes.com. Not only do you get cash back from Ebates or Shopathome, they have your order ready and waiting for you to pick up at the store within a couple hours. Great when you are hauling along kids. : )

    4. Have you tried Charles Shaw wine from Trader Joe’s? It’s a.k.a. “Two Buck Chuck”. Cheap wine that doesn’t taste like cheap wine. I like their Pinot the best but they also have good White Zin! Haven’t tried the red yet. That’s next. :)

How do you get the rewards?

      • Amber says:

Each dollar spent is 1 point and gift cards are double points. 5000 = $5.00. I have never spent $5000 dollars but I get a ton of rewards! :) I also have received extra points from the game pieces.

I tried to sign up for a Reward card online (albertsons.com/rewards)but it keeps sending me to the “preferred” card when I set up an account? How do you sign up for a Reward card? Am I missing something? I want rewards too :)

    6. Miae Aramori says:

Do you need to buy the gift cards in separate transactions? I need to get $300 and was wondering if I need to purchase in $100 increments?

    7. kristi says:

yes you do need to do in separate transactions. HTH!
