• Recipe: Dehydrated Banana Chips


    Looking for a banana chips recipe?

    We always see bananas for great prices all year round, so why not make your own Banana Chips!  These are a great healthy snack and kids love them! All you need are some good ripe bananas and a food dehydrator.


    Here is what I do:

    Slice bananas no larger than a 1/4″ and lay out on food dehydrator trays (or bake in a 200 degree oven. Place bananas on baking sheet lined with parchment paper)  - Depending on the thickness your timing will vary – just keep checking back to see if they are to your liking.  It will take a few hours

    There are some recipes that have you deep fry them, rather than dehydrate.

    Fried are way more of a “crisp” side then dehydrated, but they still are just as tasty.  If you don’t want the discoloration of the banana, you can brush on some lemon juice before you start.

      If those are your banana chips, to stop the black looking…. try dipping them in some buffered Vitamin C and they will not darken. Any health food store has it. Comes in a powder and is pure……..

      OR try to dip in lemon juice lightly…….
