    Albertsons Coupons & Deals

    Snapshot 1:11:13 5:27 PM

UPDATE: After several reports of this not working, it looks like the deal is dead

UPDATE: It looks like this is NOT working for everyone, sorry – YMMV  - If you want to leave a comment with what store this is working at that would be helpful – I did it at 196th in Lynnwood

What can you get free with coupons this week? Well let me tell you!

Reader Tanaya mentioned in the Coupon Connections Group that she received a catalina for $1.50 off your next canned soup purchase when she bought 4 Progresso Soups at Albertsons.  I heard last week that the Thursday – Sunday deals where producing store catalinas, so I decided to test and see which deals would this week, and guess what ALL 4 Do!

Here is how my trip went:

    Transaction #1

    1 Kellogg’s Cereal $1.88
    1 Progresso Soup $1.00
1 Albertsons Frozen Chicken Breast, 3lb Bag $4.99
    1 Minute Maid Juice $1.99
use $1.50/1 Kelloggs Cereal from Kelloggsfamilyrewards.com
Paid $8.36, receive $1.50 off any Cereal or Crackers, $1.00 off any canned soup, $1.50 any frozen foods purchase and $1.50 off any shelf stable juice

Then I went too see if they would roll (Rolling means, using the catalina coupon you just received to purchase the same product, getting another catalina)

    Transaction #2

    1 Kellogg’s Cereal $1.88
    1 Progresso Soup $1.00
1 Albertsons Frozen Chicken Breast, 3lb Bag $4.99
    1 Minute Maid Juice $1.99
Used  $1.50 off any Cereal or Crackers
used $1.00 off any canned soup
used $1.50 any frozen foods purchase
Used $1.50 off any shelf stable juice
use $1.50/1 Kelloggs Cereal from Kelloggsrewards.com
Paid $2.36, receive $1.50 off any Cereal or Crackers, $1.50 off any canned soup*, $1.50 any frozen foods purchase and $1.50 off any shelf stable juice

*This time I received a $1.50 off a can of soup!  I didn’t need any more juice or cereal  - this was just to test to see if it would work :) I gave those coupons over to the next person!

UPDATE:  Looks like the Minute Maid Juice is not Valid to Roll, because it needs to be use on Shelf Stable juice, my bad – showing off my intelligence because I honestly didn’t know what that meant, either did my cashier :)

If you don’t have a Kellogg’s Coupon – It will only be $0.88!

    Transaction #3

    1 Progresso Soup
1 Albertsons Frozen Chicken Breast, 3lb Bag $4.99
used $1.00 off any canned soup
used $1.50 any frozen foods purchase
Final Price: $2.99, $1.50 off any canned soup, $1.50 any frozen foods purchase

    Transaction #4

    1 Progresso Soup
1 Albertsons Frozen Chicken Breast, 3lb Bag $4.99
used $1.00 off any canned soup
used $1.50 any frozen foods purchase
Final Price: $3.49, $1.50 off any canned soup, $1.50 any frozen foods purchase (I got overage the first transaction, this one I didn’t – I think #3 overage was a mistake)

I came home super excited and was going on and on to my husband!  I mean – $1.16 for chicken?! Heck Yeah!  And my brother is going to be happy to get free soup and cereal!

FYI I wouldn’t wait, there is no reason to wait for doubles – and you can’t use them with these transactions anyway – only 1 store coupon and 1 manufacturers coupon per item!

    Happy Couponing!

    1. Tanaya says:

Thanks for the mention but I couldn’t do it without you!! You’re a huge part of why I can even do this!!!

    2. Lindsey says:

I did this just now and it all worked but the coupon for the juice is for shelf stable so it did not work on the minute maid.

    3. Marnie says:

Just attempted this. I didn’t get catlinas for the juice or for the soup. When I tried to use the frozen food coupon on my next bag of chicken they said it couldn’t be used because it was a frozen “meat” and not the actual frozen food isle. Just giving everyone a heads up that your store might not accept them for the chicken :-)

    4. Crystal W says:

Bought the ‘light’ and the store coupon didn’t print 1st trans was $1 off cereal bars n juice next trans was 1.50 who hoo thanks

    5. Hally says:

Did the soup Catalina for $1.00 print out for the ‘lite’ soup? ..or did you just buy ‘regular’ soup ??

    6. homemommy3 says:

I tried this on light soup and regular soup also Cereal and crackers and got no catalinas for them. I did get one for the juice and one for frozen foods. LIke others the frozen food coupon did not work on the chicken she had to manually put it thru.

    7. Karleen says:

Soup didn’t work-but when I combined the last it worked when I bought 2. Chicken worked. This was in poulsbo!

    8. Amy says:

Any idea what types of Kelloggs ceral trigger this?

    9. Tanaya says:

If you can’t use a double and Catalina, what if you buy five soups.. Then the double is on the first four and the fifth would count for the Catalina. It would be $1.25 instead of a dollar but still. Would work out to $.35 apiece

    10. Crystal W says:

      Light soup

      • Darla says:

Crystal, could you be exact about which light soup you purchased? Maybe there are one or two that don’t trigger the catalinas – if we have enough info, we can know what to avoid. Karleen, what soup did you purchase where it didn’t work? Light or regular? What 2 chicken soups worked?

    11. I don't shop @ Walmart says:

      That a great deal!
Any variety of $1.88 Kellogg cereal produced catalina. Light Progresso produced Cat also. Who wants to wait for doublers if you get $.75 MM today!!

    12. KARI says:

I bought 1 progresso soup, 1 special K – chocolate strawberry, 1 orange juice and 1 bag of chicken. Got back – $1.50 frozen food, $1.50 soup @ $1.50 off shelf stable juice. Did not get cereal coupon. :( I rolled and bought soup, oj (they pushed it through :( ) and toaster strudels (marysvile store didn’t have more chicken). And I recieved $1.50 shelf juice and $1.50 soup. Spent $11 total and have coupons to use later. Thanks for the heads up! I shopped at the Marysville Albertsons

      • fabiola says:

The chocolate strawberry didnt work for me either, but the yogurt berry and blueberry cereal worked fine and i got a coupon back every time :)

    13. lynnita says:

has anyone tried to buy the kelloggs cracker chips to see if it prints a catalina?? my husband is in love with these little snacks and we still have lots of cereal. i would love to see those produce a catalina of some sort. Anyone try this at an albertsons in salem or near there?

    14. Amy says:

      Has anyone tried Monroe?

      • Tonia says:

I bought 4 soup on Thursday and got a $1.50 off of soup and then used it Friday when I bought 4 more soup and got a $1 off soup. I also bought 2 bags of chicken and got a $1.50 off next frozen food purchase. I bought Special K cracker chips but didn’t get a catalina for those.

    15. Emma says:

I thought these deals had limits (2 bags chicken per day). Were the four transactions done on the same day?

    16. rose says:

I tried today in richland n not printing. Maybe it was just yesterday?? Still good price for chicken.

    17. Ben t says:

I tried all of them and not one catalina printed

    18. Lissa says:

Tried this morning at the Lake Forest Park store – no catalinas. Maybe the promotion ended?

    19. Sherrie says:

Not a one at Gig Harbor :(

    20. Amy says:

      Has anyone had luck today?

    21. Susan says:

We tried all the combinations in Tumwater, no luck. Big shout out to the checkers though, for trying all the combos :)

    22. Darla says:

I think Albies pulled the catalinas. I tried the soup this morning and noticed immediately that the Progresso scanned at $1.00 without my even entering my rewards card. Earlier you had to enter your card to get the price…they changed it from a great deals promo to a sale. (Now the computer will not limit you, however, to whatever the stated limits are because the deals are not tied to your card any longer.)

    23. Hally says:

Yes, I think that the soup catalina deal has ended in Southern California :-(
I tried all kinds of variations yesterday (Sat.), and none produced a catalina..
