Day 20 Advocare 24 Day Challenge – Home Stretch
You might be thinking I fell of the wagon with the lack of updates. I was driving to sewing class and my transmission blew. This is a week after we were told that my husbands truck wasn’t worth fixing. But it doesn’t come without blessing – A couple from church gave my husband a commuter car and we will paying 1/2 the gas price of gas we normally do. Now we just need to find a family ride that will pull our camper and fit all the children. Fun times!
My goal this time around with my challenge is to tone. I no longer have that much weight to lose and just fighting those last few stubborn inches. Since November I have lost a total of 25lbs. I started with a 35 1/2″ waist and now am at a 27″! The first time I did the 24 Day Challenge back in November I has lost 12 1/4 inches on my whole body without even working out. As they say abs are made in the kitchen. I am a goal minded person so this really works well for me.
I am on week 3 of Insanity – The workouts are tough, but I feel if I can get through the warm up and I can make it through the whole video. I have been skipping the cardio ab – after doing the pure cardio I am just wiped. Hopefully next week I can do it.
My eating plan has been going great! My little tip if you are ever thinking of doing the 24 Day challenge. Breakfast and Lunch I pretty much eat the same things. I actually even do that when I am not on the challenge. It takes the guess work out of things and it makes life that much easier.
Lunch: NO Mayo Chicken Salad
OR My new favorite: EGG Salad – pretty much the same thing as the chicken salad I just use 2 hard boiled eggs instead.
Dinners is where I change it up. I will follow blogs like www.health-bent.com and get new recipe ideas. If there are foods that are on the “no” list then I will think of creative ways to substitute.
These last few days we have had Taco Salad, Seasoned Chicken and Asparagus, and my favorite Chipotle Hamburgers with green salad!
Recipe for Chipotle Hamburgers:
1lb lean ground beef or ground turkey
1 Chipotle pepper in adobo sauce
1/2 cup green onions chopped
Salt and Pepper
Make into patties and BBQ – Top with grilled onions, avocado, tomato, wrapped in lettuce & topped with a little ketchup and mustard.
This week I plan on making the Squash Lasagna I shared awhile back, but using sweet potatoes instead.
Energy wise I feel amazing. I am thankful that I no longer survive on two pots of coffee. My husband and I were talking today about what has changed for him, he used to have headaches all the time taking Excedrin to make it through the day. I can’t even remember the last time he mentioned he had a headache.
