Couponing for a Family of Two | Coupon Training
Question: I have a family of two, so should I even bother with coupons or stockpiling?
I can’t tell you how many times I am asked this question. When I first started to use coupons I would hear this and somewhat agree with it. And it wasn’t until I actually taught my last coupon class that it dawned on me. Of course you should!
When you are a family of two are you really only buying for yourselves?
What do I mean by this? Aside from it being frugal and wise with your money. We all at sometime or another tend to have company over, family fuctions, pot-lucks, work parties and I am sure the list can go on. If you are like me and you are having dinner guest over you want to be able to pull out all the stops and really go out of your way to cook them a nice dinner. Well that could easily cost $50. But if you have a stockpile you can feed almost 40 people for $114! How do I know this? I did it.
Last January I catered a lunch for 40 women. They had a choice of Turkey Lettuce Wraps, Chicken Thai Noodle Salad or Chicken Caesar Salad. In that price includes all the boxes for the lunches and silverware as well. It was a nice lunch. This is a cost of $2.85 per lunch.
I realize that you might not be feeding 40 people, but that is just an example how little it can cost to feed a group that size.
So I will conclude with this. Yes…using coupons is completely and totally great even if you only have two people in your home. Because not only will you have enough food, shampoo and lotion for yourselves. You will have plenty to share with others as well. And when I am invited to someones house for dinner I will never have to come empty handed
So now your turn. Are you a family of two? What do you think? How have you been able to use your stockpile?
