• Albertsons, Save-A-Lot and ACME store closing list – 8 Washington Locations

I really don’t like being the bearer of bad news, especially about one of my favorite grocery stores.  Many of you reported about this on the Coupon Connections Facebook page and I didn’t really know much about it or how many stores were actually closing. By December 1st Albertsons, ACME and many Save-A-Lot stores will be closing – 8 of these locations are in Washington.    While not of these closures are in my general area I know they are in many of yours.

Here is a list of the Washington Locations:

    North Marysville

    Marysville, Wash.

    Kirkland, Wash.

    Benson & 208th

    Kent, Wash.

    Lacey, Wash.

    North Auburn

    Auburn, Wash.

    Bonney Lake

    Sumner, Wash.

    1700 Mile Hill

    Port Orchard, Wash.

    9820 Pacific Ave

    Tacoma, Wash.

You can check out the complete list of Albertsons, ACME & SaveALot locations that will be closing here

North Marysville not surprised. It is in direct compete with Winco. The complex it is in is/will be have 90% vacant. We still have our South Store.

Yeah, i heard there not doing well as a company…. hopefully that means better deals and (maybe more doublers?) for the remaining stores to try and draw more potential customers in and increase sales as opposed to the opposite… i guess we will have to wait and see!

My favorite store is closing. ( Benson and 208th ) and I am so sad! The really sad part is that this store is closing in November. Right before Christmas. My favorite cashier said that many of them will be re-assigned to other stores, but she’s worried because she ONLY has 16 years seniority and doesn’t know if she’ll make the list. Really really sad. :(

I heard a few of the employees talking about the Lacey (Carpenter Rd & Pacific Ave) closing, with the pharmacy shutting down in a matter of weeks. Now that I have read the article, I feel a bit frustrated how they were talking on the sales floor, but now that I have read the article, I can understand their frustration. I just hope the Olympia and Tumwater store stays open too. Without driving to Vancouver, no one else gives the option to double coupons or the round-up deals.

I am so upset…. Bonney Lake and Auburn were my stores… There is no other one in my area :( . I just got the hang of the couponing thing and as a teacher the savings have really helped…. So sad !

It is sad. But at Bethanie, there are two stores in Auburn one on A street and one on 15th Street. I think the 15th street one is closing since that seems more north to me than A street. Hopefully that helps. I use to love have so many Albertson’s close to me.

        • Renee says:

The 15th NW store in Auburn is closing. I talked to the store manager, Cathy, and she said her staff did everything possible to make the store profitable. I wrote to Albertson’s headquarters and asked that they take into consideration customers’ opinions and preference.

I live closer to the A Street Auburn store, but will only go their for milk or bread. It doesn’t feel safe to me and is a much smaller store than the 15th NW store.

          How sad!

I agree! I always preferred the Auburn North store to Auburn South.. bigger, in the same parking lot as the Dollar Tree for convenience on Sundays… better selection… faster checkout… Auburn South is closer though to work..

I’m sad… I’ve shopped the Bonney Lake store since it opened, worked there for a yr also, I still have a lot of friends in the store, its a sad sad day for me :’(

This is very sad news for me too. Several years ago Albertson’s did a purge and closed down a store by the Crossroads Mall. Then the one close to me burned down around the same time and no plans were made to rebuild. I’ve been going to the Juanita Albertson’s in Kirkland ever since. I’ll have to drive further to Bothell or Redmond plateau to get my deals. (Sorry but this store is a bit snooty.) The Juanita store has been there for 38 years and the wonderful staff has been there for many year also! I’ve been spoiled by the cashiers and management there. They treat one with respect and appreciate ones loyalty. I understand the company has to make changes due to the bottom line, but I don’t like it. I worry about our friends at the stores who have always had a smile and kind word when checking our groceries. I just wish there was more I could do besides emailing corporate.

    8. Erika says:

The Juanita store is my local store too. I did not know about this and was very surprised to get the mailer today. Incidentally, depending on where you live, the Lake Forest Park Albertsons may be closer for you than Redmond. I’m in Kenmore and they are about the same distance from me, but I’ve always preferred the Juanita store because of the wonderful staff.
