The $100 Visa card is yours to spend, on gas, groceries, anything where a Visa is accepted. So essentially you have paid $6.95 for $20 to spend at Rite Aid. Personally, this is a great way to jump start my 2012 couponing….as each week I will “roll” my +Up Rewards to pay for the next week’s deals that produce +Up Rewards, thus keeping my out of pocket costs very low.

I’m with Lorrie. I just don’t get it. I spend $100 + 6.95 = 106.95 oop. How is this a mm? Ok… so I get a $20 UP reward. So essentially, I pay $86.95 oop. Still don’t see how this is a mm???

You still have the $100, just in the form of a Visa card. For me, that $100 is part of my monthly budget. I’ll use that for groceries, or gas, or whatever I would have spent that $100 on anyway for the month. You are essentially paying $6.95 (the activation fee) for $20 to spend at Rite Aid. This deal won’t necessarily be appealing to everyone, but for me, it’s a great way to stretch my monthly budget by an extra $13.05.

@ Lorrie yes! This is part of the “Buy and Save” promotions spend $100 get $20 UP. But mines the activation fee that we have to pay it brings the MM down.

If anyone has personally used this card before please share your experience. Kinda skeptical about this card after doing some research. Lost of angry consumer claiming to loose $, that it’s not user friendly and contacting customer service is a joke. I don’t want to spend $100 just to make a few bucks then end up loosing everything!

I’m curious too, anyone used this card? I would probably just use it for gas but would like to hear from someone who has it, definitely do not have $100 to waste!

I mean isn’t it kinda strange that a visa gift card is part of this promotion for us to make $ off of? Once Rite Aid sales it to us, it’s out if their

+Up Rewards are a combination of store and manufacturer coupons. Although they spend just like a store coupon, Rite Aid is also getting incentive from the manufacturer.

The Vanilla Card is similar to a gift card, best to use it quick in one transaction. If you have any issues with it, customer service is a long wait and they sometimes charge. It’s good if you dont like to use your bank cards online but you need to register the card first with your address and many times it doesn’t work. IMPORTANT: This, and all the prepaid VISA cards do not work at the gas pumps. You must go inside and pay a flat amount. Otherwise it’s just like having a bank card and your gonna spend the money anyways.

The Vanilla Visa website seems to indicate that you may be charged a $2.50/month service fee on any unused balance. Not sure, as there is alot of jargon on the site.

Can you use UPs to buy the Vanilla Visa card?

I’ve used this card before – they don’t require an address to use – just a zip code and you have to sign up for an account to activate it, but they don’t need a boat load of personal info (like SSN or things I DO NOT want to give away…)

There is no service fee that I am aware of – I’ve had my card for a while now. I use it to sign up for sites that seem to good to be true like a site offer target gift cards for $10 – gotta watch my back.

But yea, I like this little gift card that is seperate from my credit card and my debit card. Problem is, the card is not ATM capable and you should not let anyone else use the card online if they live in another zip code :T

Can the $20.00 UP at Rite Aid for a $100.00 purchase occur over and over again during the promotion period?

i am surprised that nobody has posted a problem with this yet, but a friend of mine went in to go do this and since each household can have 4 cards now (new policy!) she was going to roll the GCs and after 3 tries and no ups the manager came over and pulled out an e-mail saying the the providers of the GC backed out on their deal and we are no longer able to buy them and get the ups. is there anything we can do about that. another friend was with her, and she was flat out told no, she couldnt even try and see if the ups would print.

I went to Rite Aid today to buy the Vanilla Visa card for $100 and get the $20 ups. They had a sign next to the gift cards saying they have pulled that offer.

Do you know what we would need to do if we didn’t receive a Up Reward? I purchased a Vanilla Gift Card today for $100, but it didn’t print out the $20 +Up Reward. I asked the cashier and the manager, but they said if it wasn’t in the circular (which I couldn’t find) then it wouldn’t be given to me. Any help is appreciated!

DOES NOT WORK. My riteaid is super cool and gave me a $20 riteaid giftcard for the error, but it ONLY hurts the store so I am going to tell all my friends NOT to do the deal–stupid A$$ visa!
Coupon Connections lady-you should let everyone know- in a new post I think!
