awe, shucks, we did the safeway deal. hubby did one on his card then I did mine but didn’t get the catalina so cs gave me a $15 gc instead so…it actually ended up to be an ok deal since i was able to use both in one transaction later.

Does anyone know where is the cheapest price for a spiral cut ham? I saw Fred Meyer had a $10 off coupon but those hams are 6.59/pd.!
Any info is appreciated.

Is that the flame roasted ham (or something like that)? I bought one last year at Fred Meyer and didn’t think it was that good. Maybe I just got a bad ham, but I thought I would share.

We normally buy one at Costco. I am not sure what the price per pound is but I do know that we usually buy it for around $20-$22 for a nice size one (last year we took it to Mom’s house and had some left over). It is the Kirkland brand.

I also did the Safeway deal. I know the catalina states $15 off your next $50 purchase, however I went through the self check out and the cashier there knows me and said the purchase doesn’t have to be off $50. She rang up a magazine 3 times to get it over the $15 mark, then scanned the catalina and it worked. So, I was kinda bummed not to do the Albertsons deal first, or instead, but it’s nice know I dont have to pend $50 either.

Are you willing to say which Safeway with the SCO it was and describe the cashier? Do you think they would be willing to allow other customers to purchase just $15 worth of items and use the catalina without having to spend $50? I was so upset when the $15 off $50 catalina printed. I felt that they were trying to mislead the public by not stating that up front in bold printing, but rather using microscopic print and stating that half way down the paragraph on the hang tag by the cards. $15 off of $50 at a store that I rarely shop at is pretty worthless to me. $15 of free groceries is much more palatable, even though I missed out on the $20 that Albertsons is offering.

Carla–thank you so much for mentioning this! I went to a SW with a SCO and saw an older lady cashier, so I drove to another one nearby and saw a young boy cashier at SCO. You were totally right—I did not have to total $50 even before scanning my card to just get $15 off. I was pretty disappointed when I felt that I had missed out on the Albertsons deal and instead had the $50 threshold, but I scanned my own catalina at SCO and then deposited the coupon and it totally worked. I can rest peacefully now.

Is this in their ad somewhere? I’d like to have something concrete in hand before I go try it out. I live in the pdx area so hopefully it’s working here too?

This just started yesterday and goes through 11/26. There are sign up, so as long as you buy the cards listed you will get the coupon :)

Kelly- There are signs at the gift card station with all the information posted :) I’m guessing it might be advertised in Wednesday’s Ad.

I am so happy that Albertsons is doing this! I have to buy gift cards for Christmas and was bummed about the Safeway deal, so this is perfect!

Reply

Faith November 21, 2011 at 2:19 pm

Oh, I guess I don’t have a plan yet for the $20 catalinas… but I’m working on it ;)

Reply

Elise November 21, 2011 at 2:25 pm

Oh and MAKE SURE to scan your card or the reward won’t print! I fear that was my problem today. Although, I partially blame the cashier for not asking for it ;)

The fine print says one issuance per day. Did it work using the same rewards card?

Reply

Suz November 21, 2011 at 4:45 pm

Bummer… I like to buy the starbucks ones!

Reply

Nancy November 21, 2011 at 6:05 pm

Anon, if you buy $200 in the same transaction only one $20 reward will print out. I bought $300 spread out in 3 transactions with the same rewards card and I got back (3) $20 coupons on my receipts. You can only redeem one $20 voucher per day. Each one expires after 7 days. Hope that clarifies it for you. I purchased mine at the Richland, WA store and there are no signs up in the store promoting the deal but it worked perfectly.

Now….if you get the amazon cards can you then use that card to buy gift cards on amazon for stores that aren’t included???? Anyone willing to try this?

Reply

Colleen November 22, 2011 at 4:35 am

I recently tried to do that and Amazon has a policy that you can’t use a gift card to buy a gift card (this is for any type of gift card for any retailer). I was annoyed so I thought I would save you the possible headache :/

kevin November 22, 2011 at 9:17 am

You can’t buy gift cards on amazon with credit. I tried it with the last albertson deal.

Chelsie November 22, 2011 at 11:21 am

Thanks! I am glad I wasn’t the only one or the first to think of it

Which state are these albertson promotion valid? I went to 2 albertson in my area (southern california) and they said no such deals. I even called their 800 number and they also said the same thing.

This is the hard part about Catalinas. Some catalinas are Store promotions and some are manufactures promotions. Many have reported that this deal isn’t advertised in their store and it still worked. I don’t feel comfortable saying it will for you though because if it didn’t I would forever feel guilty. Now if you are willing to try it and let us know that is good too. Just know that gift cards are non refundable…I know that is not much help to you ;/ Sorry. I will ask my store manager though he might be able to find out

Just tried this in southern California and it did not work. All I got was a 10% off coupon. So disappointed… I was buying new appliances at lowes today so I should have gotten about $300 in groceries… :(

Lee November 22, 2011 at 3:39 pm

I tried this deal in southern CA as well. 2 $25 Macys and 2 $25 JC Penney–all I got was the 10% off coupon. Yeah, they are non-refundable but I was planning on shopping at Macys and JCPenneys anyway. I was bummed :(

No signs up at the Lake Stevens Albies. I was too chicken to try it with no backup!

I assure you it is working. You might want to talk to your manager. You just have to make sure buy the ones on the list above

Has anyone tried redeeming more than one of the $20 codes in a day? I’m happy to split it into multiple transactions, but I don’t want to go back to Albertsons every day for the next wek to use all of these…

I tried using this at my store in Portland, OR and they nothing about it.
